About Date My Dish

Date My Dish is a Montréal-first guide to Date Spots: restaurants, bars, activities and chef-led experiences worth planning a night around. Every post tries to answer one question: will this place suit the date you have in mind?

Every review and Date Spot carries a plain verdict with its reason: A favourite, Depends on the night, or Not our first pick. We say which kinds of dates a place suits and where it falls short, and we print the month we last checked the details. If we show a venue’s Google rating, it is dated and labelled as theirs. When a chef gives us a dish to make at home, it runs as a recipe card under their name.

Montréal is our home market. When we review a place in another city, the post says which city.

Nobody pays to be on Date My Dish. We pay for our own meals, say so on every review, and tell you what we actually thought: kindly, but honestly. Victor Vu does the reporting, and his name is on every post. First person appears only in his signed note within a review; everything else is written as “we”. Every post is published in English and Quebec French.
